I’m renting out a spacious, furnished room in my custom-built home just west of Helena. The room comes with a comfortable queen bed, a dresser, two night stands and lamps, a closet, a desk with a lamp, and extra room to spread out or enjoy your morning exercise routine. You will also have access to a private bath with stand-up shower.
This one-of-a-kind home features a high efficiency wood-burning stove, a Finnish radiant heat stove, and electric baseboard heaters, and a high efficiency propane stove, gorgeous views of the mountains out both your bedroom and the living room windows, and a large wrap-around deck to enjoy the sunsets from. The house sits on 10 acres, adjacent to the world-renowned Feathered Pipe Ranch yoga retreat and conscious living center and the Helena National Forest. While the home is surrounded by the beauty and quiet of the mountains, it’s also just a 15-20 minute drive into Helena!
Must have a 4-wheel-drive vehicle with good snow tires—studded tires are recommended but not required.
(seriously…the roads are gnarly in the winter)
A little about me…
My name is Tom Ryan, and I’m looking for a friendly, clean, and non-smoking roommate to share my home with. The name of my private drive is Old Hippie Lane, which is a nod to both my values (proud liberal who cares about being in right relationship with this beautiful planet of ours) and my past ( let’s just say the 60s were good to me). I was the caretaker and primary builder for the Feathered Pipe Ranch for almost 35 years, and now run my own property management company. I’ve been living in the area since 1975, and finished this home in 1985, where I lived with my family until my two kids went off to college.
I’ve enjoyed living mostly alone (except for when family and friends come to visit) with my 3-year-old black lab, Bodhi, for the last few years, but am hoping to have a little extra income and a friendly face to share my space with. I work from home and will often be busy or in town running errands, but when I am available, I love to share meals, stories, and any information you want about the house and the surrounding area.
As mentioned, I run a property management company, so you can be sure that the house is well cared for. I take pride in keeping my home clean and inviting and am looking for a roommate that is just as committed to caring for the common space.
